Merry Christmas

December has definitely been a crazy busy month. We attended 1 Birthday Party and 7 Christmas Parties this month, so you can only imagine how tired we are! We had an amazing time with our families and loved every minute of it. Thank you all for the wonderful gifts and time together. The picture above is our family on Christmas morning. Josiah loved all of his gifts from Daddy and Mommy. Joseph woke him up at about 7 AM and asked him if he was ready for presents. Joseph explained to Josiah that on Christmas morning he gets presents from Daddy and Mommy. He tells him that God has provided us with the ability to get him these gifts. We should always put God first in everything we do and honor him with our tithes. Although there are good and bad times the Lord will never leave us. He is still too young this year to fully understand, but we hope that in the years to come he will understand. Thankfully, Josiah woke up in a great mood and came in and saw his bike sitting under the tree. He immediately ran and took off the bow and sat on it. When he opened his helmet and knee pads he screamed "Georgia." He thought it was a football helmet! Joseph and I were teary-eyed the whole time. Mary Elisabeth was also in a great mood. She played on the floor kicking and giggling the whole time. It was an amazing morning Praise God!

My Kid...The Rockstar

Joseph and I recently had a weekend getaway for our anniversary and left the kids with my mom. After only two nights and three days our little boy seems so much older. He is now repeating everything we say. Here is a picture of Josiah rocking out to Barney. He is now dancing and trying to do all of the motions to the songs. He also has a new favorite phrase, when he likes something he says, "whoa, cool." Joseph and I got so tickled and turned to each other saying "did he really just say cool?"

Mary Elisabeth is as cute as can be. She smiles and giggles at us. Every day that passes we fall more and more in love with her. She is such a sweet baby and sleeps most of the day. She has also started to sleep through the night (YAY for mommy!). I will put her down most nights at 8:30 and she wakes up about 8:30 or 9.
Joseph and I are so blessed to have two wonderful babies. God has blessed us so much in every aspect of our lives. He keeps Joseph safe every night at work and keeps the kids and I safe while he is gone. We are so thankful and give God all of the honor and praise because without him we would be nothing.
Praise God!

Nine Weeks and Counting...

Nine Weeks ago today we welcomed our newest little addition to our family. Mary Elisabeth was born August 21, 2008 at 11:35 a.m. Mary Elisabeth was a stubborn little baby. For about two weeks we were in and out of the doctor's office because she was not moving the way she needed to be. After a stressful two weeks we were sent to the hospital on August 20, 2008 and scheduled for induction the following morning at 6:00 AM. I was very luck the delivery went so smooth and fast. We were actually scared that my midwife would not make it to deliver Mary Elisabeth. At 11:35 a.m. the most beautiful dark haired (YAY! because she does look like me) little girl came into our lives and since then things could not be any

Nine weeks have gone by, and I am so sorry we have not posted any pictures. Life as a family of four is definitely different. Many people told us that the adjustment from one baby to two would not be so different, but my oh my were they wrong. Many days I end my day not knowing how in the world I got through it, but in the end I am always thankful for my life. Mary Elisabeth is such a blessing she is finally smiling and starting to discover her little voice. She is now 10lbs 11oz, which makes it hard to believe that when she was born she was only 6lbs 10oz. She has done so well the past couple of weeks and she even survived her first set of shots! We thank the Lord everyday for her and could not be happier with our perfect little princess.

Josiah is a great big brother. He gives her kisses and says "awww" when he sees her. We thank God that he has allowed this to be a smooth transition for him. He also has changed so much in the past nine weeks. It seems that the day we brought Mary Elisabeth home he went from baby to not quite a baby anymore. His vocabulary is definitely growing and he understands both English and Spanish. Josiah loves music and absolutely loves Barney. He also loves all kinds of sports balls, as you will see in the picture! He actually sat in the car holding them from our house to Homer, which is about 20 minutes away.

Joseph and I are so happy with our beautiful family and feel honored that the Lord has trusted us with Josiah and Mary Elisabeth. We are excited for this new chapter in our lives and can not wait to see them grow up.
Here are a couple of pictures of the last nine weeks. From coming home from the hospital to Josiah getting a big boy bed......enjoy!!
