Nine Weeks and Counting...

Nine Weeks ago today we welcomed our newest little addition to our family. Mary Elisabeth was born August 21, 2008 at 11:35 a.m. Mary Elisabeth was a stubborn little baby. For about two weeks we were in and out of the doctor's office because she was not moving the way she needed to be. After a stressful two weeks we were sent to the hospital on August 20, 2008 and scheduled for induction the following morning at 6:00 AM. I was very luck the delivery went so smooth and fast. We were actually scared that my midwife would not make it to deliver Mary Elisabeth. At 11:35 a.m. the most beautiful dark haired (YAY! because she does look like me) little girl came into our lives and since then things could not be any

Nine weeks have gone by, and I am so sorry we have not posted any pictures. Life as a family of four is definitely different. Many people told us that the adjustment from one baby to two would not be so different, but my oh my were they wrong. Many days I end my day not knowing how in the world I got through it, but in the end I am always thankful for my life. Mary Elisabeth is such a blessing she is finally smiling and starting to discover her little voice. She is now 10lbs 11oz, which makes it hard to believe that when she was born she was only 6lbs 10oz. She has done so well the past couple of weeks and she even survived her first set of shots! We thank the Lord everyday for her and could not be happier with our perfect little princess.

Josiah is a great big brother. He gives her kisses and says "awww" when he sees her. We thank God that he has allowed this to be a smooth transition for him. He also has changed so much in the past nine weeks. It seems that the day we brought Mary Elisabeth home he went from baby to not quite a baby anymore. His vocabulary is definitely growing and he understands both English and Spanish. Josiah loves music and absolutely loves Barney. He also loves all kinds of sports balls, as you will see in the picture! He actually sat in the car holding them from our house to Homer, which is about 20 minutes away.

Joseph and I are so happy with our beautiful family and feel honored that the Lord has trusted us with Josiah and Mary Elisabeth. We are excited for this new chapter in our lives and can not wait to see them grow up.
Here are a couple of pictures of the last nine weeks. From coming home from the hospital to Josiah getting a big boy bed......enjoy!!
